  • Thanks so much for adding New Beat as a genre! Felt like it was neglected and made an account to contribute some stuff, but it was such a well-received surprise to see that New Beat was already there!

    • No Problem, I felt as it was time to recognize it as it's own thing, seeing how it's dominating EDM at the moment.

    • I have a question, I'm really curious, don't take it the wrong way, but: how the hell is Backup New Beat? It's clear as daylight that it's moombahcore? And it also has a trap part?

    • I can understand where the curiosity originates, Backup is the rare example of Skizzo (BPMs are in the 110-130 range) & has a load more elements that are traced back to New Beat, The Complex bass-design & the Snare used points to New Beat. + the Industrial soundwork suits New Beat more than Moombahcore. I neglected to add the Trap part, which is a mistake on my behalf

    • I just want to learn, no problem! Just a misunderstanding. Do you have any examples of Skizzo tracksI could listen to?..

    • Stuff like Bad Computer's Static Abyss & Stereo Nicotine

Skizzo is extremely rare, so finding another example just like Backup could take some time

    • Strange, it sounds so similar to every Moombahcore track I've listened to..

    • It takes a really good ear to hear the minute details that draw the line

But once you hear them, you can never unhear them

    • Static Abyss sounds very similar to Disarray, in a sense. The distorted synths and basslines are characteristic of Bad Computer's work. It sounds like some fusion of Bass House, Deep House, G House , Techno and Industrial, and, indeed, sounds like a faster style of New Beat

However, the BC songs you mentioned do not sound similar to Backup, to me.
