Past tense for future material?[]

I don't understand why this wiki has a preference to use past tense when talking about future releases and events. I regularly edit on the English Wikipedia, and even on that site, there's no problem taking the effort to change from future tense to past or present tense when the time comes. I would like some kind of explanation for this preference, if at all possible. Thanks! JalenFolf (talk) 00:44, 29 June 2024 (UTC)

Past tense for future things is not something that's too uncommon on other Fandom wikis I've seen. Wikipedia has its own standards for content due to how large it is, but Fandom wikis are much smaller so I don't think it's too big of a deal to deal with past/future tense. I'm not against putting in the extra effort to change tenses, but at the same time, I don't think much is gained by putting in the effort here. I'm dot Comfey (talk) 03:36, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
