Sarawak is the name of a state in Malaysia. It is located on the northwestern side of the island of Borneo, and is home to both jungles and people with their own unique culture. After growing both physically and creatively exhausted from touring, Morgan and Fletcher decided to go to Sarawak, where Morgan grew up.
Because of this fact, it can be presumed that the coverarts for Daggers, Solid and the EP all relate to the state of Sarawak and its people and culture.
Some of the sounds in the songs were recorded by the duo during their stay, such as cicadas, the sound of a sape, and the echo of a cave.
SLUMBERJACK have a short video series on their YouTube channel detailing their trip to Sarawak and some of the experiences they went through there, which is the inspiration for their EP.
