Monstercat Instinct is one of the three imprints of Canadian music label Monstercat. Contrasting with Monstercat Uncaged and Monstercat Silk, Instinct primarily focuses on "vibrant, emotional, and melodic" music.
The label currently publishes one new track a week under this imprint on Thursdays.
History[]
In January 2018, it was announced by Monstercat that the label would start publishing new music on two imprints, with the imprint dedicated to the label's softer and pop sounding musical styles and genres under the Monstercat Instinct name.[1][2][3] An imprint for the label's more energetic and hard-hitting music adopted the current brand "Monstercat Uncaged" name.[4] Instinct was officially founded as an imprint on January 2, 2018, with Uncaged being added the day before. Monstercat created a new YouTube channel for the imprint and repurposed the original channel into the new YouTube channel for Uncaged. The release schedule was revamped from a three-day, Monday-Wednesday-Friday weekly release schedule to a four-day schedule with Tuesdays and Fridays dedicated to Instinct tracks.[5] The Call of the Wild podcast was moved from Tuesday to Wednesday as part of the changes as well.[5] The very first track published on Monstercat Instinct was "Ready To Fly" by Didrick, featuring Adam Young from Owl City, which was released on January 9, 2018.
