Some of the songs on the album I had started before Ask Your Friends First had come out. I think it's been over a year and a half writing. ... Many of them are shadows of how they first started out. I probably wrote close to 20 songs for the album and then these are my favorite 11.
In the LP, Tut Tut Child continues his theme of working with references from Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. While most of these references are most noticeable in his EP titles, many songs on Come to the End; Then Stop refer to the novels directly or indirectly (such as "Eat Me" and "Queen of Your Heart").
The title of the long play stems directly from a passage in Alice in Wonderland[1], in which the King says to the White Rabbit, "Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end; then stop."
