Erik Bjärngard, known professionally as Bossfight, is an electronic music producer based in Sweden. He debuted on Monstercat with his song, Subside in collaboration with Ephixa, which was released on December 13, 2017.

- Bossfight started out as a chiptune project in 2010 as a trio alongside Sebastian Persson (also 1/2 of Elextroofficial)[1] and Robin Jensen (also known as pineapple dreams)[2]. The project later became a duo with Robin where they began making more bass-influenced music of different genres, before Erik went solo under the Bossfight name and eventually started releasing music under the Monstercat label.
- One considerable contribution to Bossfight gaining popularity was the game Geometry Dash, where songs from Newgrounds are used to create in-game levels. This includes the track Nock Em for the spin-off Geometry Dash Subzero alongside the racing game Asphalt Legends (currently removed from the soundtrack in the Korean Spring Update). Additionally, he also gained popularity from the Roblox game Speed Run 4 where various tracks from his Caps On, Hats Off album were used.
- On Newgrounds, Erik was previously known as Holyyeah where he uploaded his own music and music from the Bossfight project. He considered it his personal account, while the musical group Bossfight was a separate project. In 2016 he changed the account name to "bossfightofficial". On January 31, 2021, his account was renamed to "bossfight".
- He did not upload songs to Newgrounds from January 3, 2018, onwards, thinking it would breach Monstercat music licensing.[3] However, on January 29, 2021, he started uploading his music from Monstercat and other labels when he realized that FWLR got permission from Monstercat to upload on Newgrounds.[4][5]
- Between 2013 and 2017, Erik was part of the Swedish band Dunderpatrullen, whose music is influenced by chiptune and retro games. As of 2021, Erik still helps produce Dunderpatrullen music behind the scenes.
- Dunderpatrullen was his main inspiration to start making music.
- On March 29, 2021, 10 years after the start of his career, and on the release date of his track Endgame, Bossfight made a deanonymize, posting his self-portrait on all social media.[6][7][8] Several more photographs of him have appeared since, primarily on his social media and Monstercat's website.
- He initially showed his face as a duo/trio act, but delisted all pictures of his face in 2017, excluding his upload of Be Gone Mr. Gawne.[9]
- Bossfight won the most voted artist sub-award in the Monstercat - Best of 2022 compilation.
- His last name used to be Sjöstrand before changing it to Bjärngard in 2023 to keep a family name alive.[10]
