291 - Monstercat: Call of the Wild (Infected Mushroom - Artist Commentary) is the 140th episode of the Call of the Wild series. The episode was hosted by Infected Mushroom for the release of their More Than Just a Name album and commented on each track. The episode contained all eight tracks from Infected Mushroom's album. The episode is approximately 56 minutes and 59 seconds (56:59).
More Of Just The Same - The "opener of the album," this song was collaborated with WHITENO1SE and is a "trance smasher to the dance floor!"
Only Solutions - The second track of the album and the third single prior to the album's release, all that can be said about the title is "everyone just need solutions."
Ani Mevushal - The third track was Infected Mushroom's second collaboration with Bliss on Monstercat. They mention working with Bliss on "three or four tracks," however, outside of the two Monstercat releases, Bliss did one remix of their song "Bust A Move" on their IM21, Pt. 1 remix EP. "[The song is] a high energetic track... a lot of guitars, and a lot of head banging from Bliss! Ani Mevushal means 'I'm baked' in Hebrew or 'I'm cooked.'"
Symphonatic (IM & Astrix Remix) - The fourth track is a remix with Astrix. "This one took us a while to do, it was a lot of back-and-forth between Astrix and us. We even have the original vocal from the original [Broadway] singer from [the musical] Cats, Betty Buckley from here."
No Line in MIDI - "It's a psychedelic track with a lot of distortions, kind of Infected-style." The title of the track is influenced from the singing in the end that there was "no line in MIDI... We lost a MIDI file that we couldn't retrace, and this happens a lot to [us], so we did it all from audio."
Splicon - The sixth track of the album pronounced "spl-eye-sawn" has "very old school 80's, 90's synth sounds opening the track. The Infected stories start with one thing and end with another."
Freedom Bill - The seventh track of the album is a collaboration with Freedom Fighters and Mr. Bill. The title is a combination of Infected Mushroom's collaborator's names. "A very non-typical Infected Mushroom track to this album, a low-bit techno with a little bit of glitch hop and an ending of the distortion [from our off-label song] Montoya. I think this is the most unique track on the album because it's so different to our style."
Infected Megamix - While Infected Mushroom is listed as one of the artists for the final track, it was not made by them exactly. "It was made by Space Cat [and] X-noiZe (aka SpaceNoiZe) and Vertical Mode; three psytrance bands who made one megamix of all tracks of Infected Mushroom. Many tracks in there, I hope you recognize them all!"
